I was born in a rural area of Cullman County, Alabama in 1970. My dad was a professional singer and my mom worked at a bank. A college education was never even mentioned in my home. I married my high school sweetheart at age 20, and 27 years later, we're still happily married. I first realized I had an interest in helping people with money in 2005. I became a certified Dave Ramsey counselor and hosted numerous FPU classes. It was at that time, I realized I had a passion for investing and helping people reach their retirement/investing goals. Since then I traveled across the country speaking and have made it my goal to reach as many people as I can to teach and encourage saving and investing. My book Let's Talk Money has sold thousands of copies. My promise is that I always eat my own cooking. So, if I'm teaching it, then I'm doing it in my life. I am a lifelong learner. I have completed my Wealth Management Specialist designation and plan to continue to grow and further my financial education.
